Nature forest

Jocelyn Davco, MA, LPC

My work is grounded in evidence-based theories and techniques that will help us to better understand what may be getting in the way of you living the life you want. We will partner together to explore what may be contributing to the areas where you feel stuck, anxious, and depressed, and hopefully, find new ways of thinking that lead to growth and positive change. While the journey to self-acceptance isn’t always easy, it certainly is worth-it, and I’ll stick with you, even when it gets tough.

I have worked with folks from all ages and walks of life in various settings: a college counseling center, a school-based setting, community mental health, Intensive outpatient eating disorder treatment, and private group practices. I’m thrilled to be running my own practice, where I get to incorporate the outdoors through walk and talk sessions on the trail or sitting in peaceful outdoor settings. I work with a variety of presenting concerns, but tend to specialize in anxiety, perfectionistic thinking patterns, attachment related issues, eating disorders, and trauma.

In my free time, I enjoy supporting my two amazing teenagers, adventuring outdoors any chance I get, and curling up with a good book. I love learning and tend to nerd out on anything related to psychology, health, and social justice.

What is Nature -informed therapy

Nature informed therapy (NIT) integrates the restorative power of the natural world with evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Backed by research and gaining traction rapidly, this approach encompasses a variety of activities including “walk and talk” therapy, nature-informed mindfulness practices, backpacking, and more.

We work with you to incorporate nature-informed therapy into your personal journey in a way that works for you. We require folks to complete an intake session prior to pursuing walking and hiking sessions to make sure these approaches are an appropriate fit for your needs.
